Grand Oak Plantation, bringing history to life.

Grand Oak Plantation is your source for living history programs, custom clothing, past and upcoming Civil War related events, and information about Civil War related historical fiction. Thomas Tear, Karen Jessee and Roxanna Hurst have been involved with living history for six years. Karen and Roxanna’s years of experience teaching in the public school system allows them to add a unique perspective to their programs. Our shared theater arts background has sharpened our skills in, make up and hair, set and costume design, as well as performing live on stage. We enjoy bringing these skills to our living history programs.

All of our programs are carefully researched to avoid the "Urban Legend" approach to history. Our clothing is also meticulously researched and historically documented. Karen, Roxanna and myself, regularly attend lectures and work shops to increase our knowledge and to keep up with the living history community. Living history is our passion. We hope you enjoy your visit to Grand Oak Plantation please come back often.
